Scott Allen saddles up for Sip Media Solutions in strategic content and betting role

Sip Media Solutions are delighted to announce that Scott Allen has joined the team on a consultancy basis to help oversee our betting, SEO/GEO and horse racing content strategy.

Scott is an innovative content, marketing and communications specialist with over 20 years’ experience working across B2B and B2C brands and SMEs.

He’s a pioneer of digital media from the very early days of the technology, when mobile sites were hidden behind a small button on a Nokia handset, all the way up to the behemoth it is today.

Scott cut his teeth as a business and sports reporter at the Press Association before moving into more senior roles at Orange working in live content, data, product and project management, as well as leading large teams across multiple offices.

A head of marketing and communications role at one of the world’s leading sports surface providers (STRI) saw him work at a strategic global level across Europe, Australia, China and the Middle East.

In this role, Scott delivered marketing and communications solutions at some of the biggest sporting events in the world including the World Cup, The Open, Wimbledon and the world’s richest horse race the Saudi Cup.

Horse racing expertise

At Planet Sport, Scott managed the editorial arm of the betting division, delivering daily tips content across the business’ suite of sites as well as producing horse racing and football podcasts for Planet Sport Bet.

Brought up in the shadow of Epsom's famous racecourse, Scott brings his knowledge of horse racing to Sip Media Solutions, in addition to the wide range of sports he has spent the last 20 years covering.

Managing Director Simon Wilkes said: “Scott is an extremely important and valuable addition to the Sip Media management and editorial team.

“In a world full of fake news where algorithms change weekly and page views disappear, experience, expertise, authoritativeness and trustworthiness are becoming increasingly important in the publishing industry - and Scott has all of those in abundance.

“We are working with the likes of Adapt iGaming, EPL Bets and Racing Ahead magazine, so Scott’s expertise in betting and horse racing will prove to be valuable to the team - and he will also oversee Sports News Blitz’s betting and horse racing content.

“His knowledge and expertise is second to none, and he also brings marketing, SEO/GEO and keyword volume skills to the table, so it’s an addition that will really drive Sip Media Solutions into the betting and gaming industry.”

Placement opportunities

Scott said: “Simon has worked incredibly hard turning Sip Media from a start-up into a profitable business in less than a year, and I’m delighted to be joining its ranks.

“What has impressed me most about Sip Media is the placement opportunities the business gives students and graduates making their first steps on the sports journalism ladder.

“It’s an incredibly tough job market out there and giving students a leg-up to showcase their work to potential employers is a worthy and altruistic strategy that underpins Sip Media’s values.

“This certainly wasn’t an option when Simon and I began our journey all those years ago, so I look forward to helping Sip’s growing legion of placement students, as well as supporting the business’ content output and strategy.”
